opportunity for you to grow in knowing Jesus and loving Alaska
Held in Fairbanks, SUMMIT will combine
community service work, scripture study, playing with kids, community
living, worship, learning about ministry needs in Alaska, community outreach
and fun all in a low-income setting. Together we want to understand God’s
heart and grow in our love for all the people of Alaska.
The schedule is somewhat rigorous
but incredibly rewarding.
We are excited about this project and look forward to being with YOU!
Important Stuff
Cost:
Only
$52! Foundations who care about Alaskan Students have helped make the cost
so low. If you still find the cost challenging we encourage you to ask for
help from your church, family or friends. The fee covers housing, meals &
transportation while at Summit. Personal costs (including transportation to
Fairbanks) are on you.
Expectations:
It is expected that you’ll
participate in the entire week. There won’t be time to visit family or
friends during Summit. Come ready to learn & serve.
Health Insurance:
Each student must have personal
health insurance. We’ll also provide limited accident and liability
coverage through InterVarsity. If you don’t have insurance, talk to your
staff about options.
What
To Bring:
Pack appropriately. Bring: Work
Clothes (including gloves, boots & paint clothes), casual clothes, swim
suit, towels, sleeping bag, air mattress, hat, sunscreen, Bible, notebook &
personal gear. Please, no cell phones, CD/MP3 players or computers.
