It was
joyful to spend a night reflecting on God’s goodness together at the
InterVarsity Becky Pippert Dessert. Here are a few highlights from the
evening:
►
Kim
Porter,
Regional Director of the Northwest, walked us through the many challenges
InterVarsity has faced since it began in 1941. In the midst of the
changing culture, the gospel has remained constant!
|
►
We had
an opportunity to surprise
Fred
Wagner,
long-term InterVarsity staff worker, with words of encouragement and
blessing from InterVarsity colleagues to honor him for his
faithfulness in ministry. Here is one quote from former staff worker
Steve Simon who was both a campus staff worker and then an Area
Director under Fred in the 1970s. |

“You are a wonderful model of what it means to follow in the Apostle
Paul’s footsteps! One day Jesus will greet you with the words,
‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’ And when he does, the
heavens will boom with all the Amen’s from the people whose lives
you’ve impacted.” |

►Becky Pippert
who was on staff with InterVarsity in the 70‘s, spoke on recognizing and
remembering God’s goodness and faithfulness to us. She recounted the
many ways students trusted in Jesus to answer their prayers and took
giant leaps of faith. She lavishly praised InterVarsity’s ministry
saying:
|

|
|

|
“Everything I learned about the Christian faith
and
how to apply it,
I learned in
InterVarsity.”
|
 |
►
Alumni and supporters reconnected with
InterVarsity friends and had an opportunity to meet the current
staff serving on the Northwest campuses. Many took the chance to
sign up to receive prayer letter updates about their alma mater
campus chapter. |

If you did not have an opportunity to
complete the short survey for alumni and supporters, it would serve us
if you would take a couple minutes to let us know what you think.
